The Lake Erie Crushers are a professional baseball team that are a member of the Frontier League, a “Partner League” of Major League Baseball.

The Crushers, established in 2009, are based in Avon, Ohio, and their home stadium is Lake Erie Crushers Stadium. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000, including 11 suites, four-person terrace tables, berm seating, picnic and patio areas for group outings. The stadium features new artificial turf, concession stands, a team shop, a state-of-the-art sound system, and a new video board. Avon is 20 miles west of Cleveland, Ohio, and part of the Cleveland metropolitan area.

The Crushers have an opening for a Sr. Manager of Marketing and Communications. The right individual will be an integral part of the management team to drive brand awareness, fan engagement, revenue, and deliver a unique ballpark experience for fans of all ages.

THE ROLEWill be responsible for driving brand awareness, fan engagement, and revenue. This role will lead the overall marketing and communications efforts strategy for the Crushers franchise team and Crushers Stadium. This position will be responsible for hiring, training, leading, and daily motivating the marketing team on game days, event days, and non-game day hours. The ideal candidate is creative, resourceful, and has the mindset to enhance the fan experience and drive revenue.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for developing outreach strategies for brand awareness, fan engagement, and revenue.

Develop a year-round communication strategy.

Create the annual business plan, budget, and department workflow to deliver the plan.

Develop and monitor KPI’s on a weekly basis.

Lead our content strategy that is on brand and impactful across our traditional, digital, and social channels to support goals across the organization.

Manage strategic marketing and communications calendar that includes social media, email, digital display boards, and paid media across TV, radio, print, text, digital, and Google.

Create strategic marketing plans around sponsors, events, and key initiatives throughout the year.

Oversee our social media efforts, with the goal of increasing impressions & engagements across all channels.

Develop earned media strategy.

Prepare news announcements.

Partner with ticket sales, corporate partnerships, food/beverage, and merchandising to ensure we are aligned in messaging and tactics to drive sales and revenue.

Develop marketing activation strategy for non-baseball events and off-premise events and appearances.

Additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

2+ years of marketing and communications experience, preferably within the sports industry for a league or team.

Strong team player and self-starter.

Strong project management and planning skills.

Analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.

Experience working with social media content creation, management platforms (Hootsuite), analytics tools, platforms, and channels.

Self-motivated, TEAM-oriented mindset.

Knowledge of Tickets.com and SCORE CRM a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze current business opportunities and implement recommended solutions.

Excellent leadership, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Driven to succeed and overcome obstacles through hard work and determination. Bachelor’s degree in business or related major is preferred.
