Description

The role is focused on driving revenue through underwriting and sponsorships for Austin PBS-produced and/or distributed content and events. As a key member of the revenue Development Team, this position will be instrumental in generating new business opportunities by cultivating and managing corporate relationships.

The position is part of the Development Team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, while working closely with other key members of the Development and Events teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

Create and execute an annual business development plan aimed at identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donor and corporate sponsor support for Austin PBS. This plan should align with the organization's strategic goals.Engage in all stages of the sales cycle, from prospecting to developing customer rapport, closing business and servicing accountsExpand sales footprint with existing and new accounts by introducing new sponsorship and underwriting opportunities and servicesSupport the local underwriting program, including managing prospects and donors, pricing, inventory tracking, and spot creation.Research and develop new methods to aid in identifying potential corporations and foundations, and donors or grantees of underwriting opportunities.Responsible for meeting and exceeding annual sales goals with a focus on solutions based selling of events, digital assets and broadcast productionsSolicit production underwriting for locally produced programming and distributed regionally and nationallySecure sponsorships for Austin PBS's annual eventsCollaboration & Compliance:

Work with the Marketing Team and Traffic Managers to ensure compliance with underwriting credit guidelines, and ensure spots are produced and aired correctly.Collaborate with the Database Manager to ensure corporate donors are properly tracked, billed and acknowledged.Work to ensure sales coordination across donor and sponsor databases, aligning efforts with other members of the Development and Events teams.Participate in designing, developing, planning and implementing special fund-raising events that involve clients and community membersReporting & Team Participation:

Maintain accurate revenue forecasting and budgeting systems and ensure follow-through on underwriting contracts and event sponsorships.Complete appropriate sales activity reports and forecasts as requiredStay updated on Austin PBS programs and events.Actively participate in Development and Marketing team activities and events.Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, fundraising, or a similar field; media sales experience is a plus.Proven ability to build and nurture relationships with local and regional businesses.Familiarity with the Central Texas business community and experience with consultative sales.Strong organizational skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies and presentations.Excellent written, verbal communication and time management skillsArticulate, energetic, goal-driven, and able to collaborate effectively across departments.Passion for public media and Austin PBS's mission.Strong organizational, interpersonal, and networking skills.Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.Working Conditions:

Regular interaction with clients and staff.Must be able to work a flexible schedule and meet deadlines for multiple projects.May be required to attend events outside of regular business hours.Work environment may involve moderate noise levels.

This is a full-time salaried position that is currently a hybrid position with a salary of $80,000.
