Do you have a passion for storytelling? The Arlington Heights Memorial Library (AHML) is seeking a dynamic and creative communications and marketing professional to join its national award-winning Communications & Marketing Department. The ideal candidate is a team player with a demonstrated passion for social media, creative content and communications combined with strong writing and multimedia editing skills.
Responsibilities
Tell the library's story in print and digital including stories for local and national publications, AHML website, e-newsletters, social media, advertising copy, video scripts and other marketing materials, ensuring brand consistency across all communication channels.Create engaging social media content for Facebook, Instagram and other digital platforms, including Stories and Reels.Monitor and use metrics to drive digital marketing strategy.Develop stories for monthly library newsletter, interview staff and customers, take photos and write for publication.Proofread a variety of marketing materials including newsletters, brochures, signage, and other print and digital communications.Assist with media relations including identifying story ideas and pitch a variety of local and national media on library news stories and initiatives.Requirements & Skills
Minimum 3 years related experience.Demonstrated skills in writing, editing and interviewing.Demonstrated photo and video experience for digital platforms.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize project workload; well-organized and attentive to detail.Ability to work effectively with staff and customers in alignment with Our Culture and IDEA.
Education: Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field.
Hours and Scheduling: Part-time, 25 hours/week, flexible daytime hours Monday-Friday. Must be available for occasional evenings & weekends.
