The Path Forward Return to Work program at CDK Global is a 16- week paid Returnship for experienced professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving. The program is open to anyone with at least 5 years of professional experience and has been out of the paid workforce for at least two years to focus on caring for a child or other dependent. It also offers support through Path Forward, a nonprofit organization on a mission to empower people who've been focused on caregiving transition back to the paid workforce.Position SummarySoftware Developer Engineer in Test are skilled resources with a strong quality foundation and intermediate programming skills that not only serve as testers but as developers for test automation. SDETs will shift focus from manual to test automation.Position Responsibilities & Essential functionPartner with product & engineering/scrum teams to review requirements, build automation to maintain data qualityDevise the comprehensive test strategy for a new product and ensure it is executed across multiple teamsMonitor tests and report/resolve failuresWork with manual QA to automate repetitive and critical test cases (automation test suite)Research new tools and techniques to improve qualityProvide quality reports with recommendations for improvementDevelop/code test casesQualificationsPreferred:End-to-End Automated testing exposure by using one or more testing tools (Talend or Collibra preferred)Should be able to code automation scripts for various QA activities (Integration scripts between CI/CD tool and Test management tool)Focus on automated processes (Test reports, Test traceability). Leverage current team skills and lead automation efforts. Take ownership of automation repository (Script maintenance, expansion, continuous improvements)An ongoing thirst for new knowledge and ideas, and a passion for software engineering as a QA Automation EngineerCreative problem-solving, proficient debugging and profilingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEducation/ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent in IT, computer science or related field is preferred, with a minimum of 2 years of directly related work experience in one of these fields (work experience may be used to in place of degree)2+ years of End-to-End Automated testing experience by using one or more test automation tools (Talend or Collibra preferred)2+ years engineering experience with various programming languages (SQL, Python or Java preferred)Experience with source control (Git, GitHub Flow)An ongoing thirst for new knowledge and ideas, and a passion for software engineering as a QA Automation EngineerExperience working with distributed teams.
