Sr IT Infrastructure Engineer - SQL Server DBA . The Sr IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for design, implementation, administration, and support of SQL database. You will provide direct technical leadership for all requirements in the planning, strategy, roadmap, design, implementation, administration of releases, upgrades, or changes to SQL database. What you will do:The Senior SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the overall SQL Server environment. Responsible for implementation, configuration, security, administration, maintenance, and performance of SQL Server systems, as well as ensuring the availability and performance of enterprise applicationsMaintain SQL database objects and perform database capacity planning, data modeling, data loads, troubleshooting, database backup and recovery and support applications.Develop and execute long-term SQL database strategy and roadmap, including technology refresh, cloud adoption, move to PaaS solution. Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product life-cycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systemsSQL Database Design and Implementation: Develop and implement robust SQL server database architecture designs, incorporating best practices for high availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization. Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure SQL solutions on the hosting and PaaS platformLevel 3 Support: Level 3 escalation for SQL database server. Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-endConfigure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and securityEnsure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectationsAutomation and Orchestration: Drive automation initiatives using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell to streamline infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and maintenance tasks. Implement CI/CD and DevOps model for Infrastructure as a code. Script automationManage database structures by monitoring and adjusting the internal structures (tuning) as requiredDefines, establishes and performs regular backups of databasesInvolvement in planning, designing, creating, installing, customization, upgrades and maintaining of databases to meet defined requirementsPerform upgrades of the database and software to new release levelsDocuments databases and deployed applications. Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and provide training to team members as needed.Perform Database Security implementation and documentationCreate and maintain reports and formsEnsure databases are compliant with applicable STIGSPerform other duties as requiredParticipate in on-call duties on rotational basisParticipate as member of a project team and deliver infrastructure components according to requirements and timelines, including self-management of small technology projectsWhat’s in it for you:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience4+ years of experience working on SQL databases performing modeling and administrationHands-on experience with cloud automation and orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShellExperience managing vulnerability remediation programs in a medium to large environmentExperience designing and managing virtual infrastructure solutions in a medium to large environmentWork visa sponsorship is not available for this positionPreferred Qualifications:
10+ years of experience working on SQL databases performing modeling and administrationDevOps and CI/CD, Site Reliability Engineering experienceRelevant professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database AdministratorExperience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
