Maintains systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts; supervising staff.
Key Accountabilities
Ensures that our products meet the company's standards and specificationsComplete, legible and accurate documentationMust understand and follow all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)Food Safety and Quality Standard Requirements are being maintained dailyMust understand and comply with the company Allergen, Food Defense and HACCP policiesMust communicate with Supervision of any Food Safety and Equipment concernsFollows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for the area workedEstablishes and maintains effective working relationshipsNever abuse equipmentWork with Supervision and maintenance to maintain equipment in good working conditionAbility to work in a fast paced environmentCorrect weighing and recording of any waste to be disposed ofFollows all work instructionsPerform all other work assigned duties as required by SupervisionKeep work area and machinery cleanUse Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary for task at handNever use damaged palletsMust comply with all safety policies and procedures at all timesUtilize all safety devicesReport any unsafe work practices or injuries to your supervisorRequired to maintain a safe and clean work environmentRequired to supply own basic hand toolsMaintains a constant presence on production floor in order to identify potential issues with machineryAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprintsProvide strong leadership and guidance to maintenance techs, instilling sense of urgency, safety, and pride in workResponsibilities
Assists Maintenance Manager in maintaining the facility and equipment in a safe and operational state of readiness at all times in order to meet daily production requirementsSupervises the established preventative maintenance program which includes lubrication, inspections and engineering sanitation schedules to minimize production down timeParticipates in the selection, training and development of the engineering department staffAssists in the scheduling of engineering staff to support schedules, production and non-production hoursHelps maintain the engineering department's shop and equipmentAssists in purchasing and maintaining proper inventory levels of equipment spare partsConsults with Maintenance Manager on long and short term improvement needsAssists the Maintenance Manager in managing the engineering department within all policy and budgetary guidelinesFacilitates open communication with each subordinate and department head to ensure equipment problems are addressed on a timely basisAssists in maintaining comprehensive and complete engineering records, including preventative maintenance manuals and capital expenditure requestsContributes to the production of a consistent quality product through maintaining and updating facility engineering practicesEstablishes and maintains effective working relationships and two-way communication with co-workers and other personnel throughout the companySupports quality control programs to ensure production procedures are in compliance with best practices food safety and quality standardsAssists maintenance techs in troubleshooting and repair of equipmentAssists maintenance techs with machine PM's to improve machine reliabilityOther duties assigned by managerSkills, Experience & Qualifications
Possession of relevant technical knowledge.Possess high level of safety awareness.Must possess clerical ability.Must possess good communication skills to interact with different groups of people effectively.Experience in Supervision, Staffing, Customer Service, Strategic Planning, Troubleshooting, Technical Understanding & Leadership, and Equipment MaintenanceEducation, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency Level
Required
High School Diploma or GEDFormal training or experience in general maintenance or other maintenance responsibilities that would include the ability to recognize electrical, plumbing, and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failuresPreferred
Relevant undergraduate degree or certificationExperience in the food industryStrong knowledge of low voltage and high voltage electrical systemsProficient in troubleshooting electrical issues and conducting repairsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailPhysical Requirements
