This position will require someone with an understanding that one needs to have a "roll up your sleeves" attitude to help make things happen.Job Summary:This position is responsible for the overall quality of property damage claims handling, including appraisal review, subrogation, salvage, total loss, and SIU investigations associated with auto property claims. High level (exposure) to property claim estimating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolution skills are required. Capable of working with minimal supervision; act as a resource to other claims personnel.RequirementsJob Responsibilities:•Review, adjust and write appraisals as necessary. Obtain an agreed price with shops when possible.•Ability to build a great working relationship with body shops and independent adjusters.•Ability to document the estimate summary in the claims reporting system.•Redline estimates and adjust accordingly.•Manage and resolve DOV when indicated.•Ensure prompt, appropriate and timely estimate resolution in accordance with company goals and guidelines.•Ensure that estimates that are received and reviewed are matched and uploaded to the file.•Complete vehicle evaluations on totaled vehicles per company guidelines.•Handle special projects as needed.•Stay current with a comprehensive training program to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal collection and salvage laws; follow protocols to maximize subrogation and salvage recoveries and reduce department expenses to support the unit operations.Qualifications:Requirements•3+ years of material damage appraisal experience specifically in the P&C insurance background spaceCore Competencies:•Significant knowledge of repair and total loss techniques and statutory requirements.•Direct, results driven, and dedicated to the success of the business and each other.
