Position Summary: This role is pivotal in the life of the organization and is tasked with representing Youth Guidance and its Becoming A Man (BAM) program within Greater Seattle and leading local fundraising initiatives. As a passionate advocate for investing in youth, the Development Director will lead and manage the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of funders with a focus on corporate, foundation, and government grants. The Development Director will be the point of contact for a local Advisory Council, working to secure introductions to prospective donors that increase visibility, resources, and growth for Youth Guidance across Greater Seattle. This position is a hybrid remote position in Seattle, WA.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Develops and implements plans aimed at sustaining and growing current foundation, corporate, and public funder relationships.Represents Youth Guidance to the external community, including community events, partnership meetings, and media opportunities.Proactive relationship-builder, working collaboratively with program leaders and a local Advisory Council to cultivate local and regional relationships that will sustain and grow Youth Guidance programming.Highly responsive & proactive in engagement of key public & private sector stakeholders.Stays current on the local operating context, including education and political landscapes, as well as current trends in the field of youth development.Serves as the primary point of contact with current & prospective donors through newsletters, personal visits, phone calls, and personalized acknowledgements to achieve continued donor engagement.Forecasts annual, quarterly and monthly revenue, as well as donor renewal and acquisition, utilizing Salesforce for constituent relationship management.Completes ongoing prospect research (online, databases, clearinghouses, professional literature, and donor prospecting directories) of current and prospective corporate, foundation and individual donors to identify viable local funding opportunities.Completes all stages of funding proposal development including outreach to grant-makers, and development of compelling, timely and error-free letters of inquiry, presentation decks, online applications, formal proposals and grant reports.Works collaboratively with program, evaluation and finance staff in the planning and development of grant proposals, reports and budgets.Ensures site has high-quality, brand consistent digital and print collateral materials and positive public relations, with support from the Director of Marketing & CommunicationsEnsures the fulfillment of funding partner recognition and benefits (e.g. article in newsletter, acknowledgement in annual report)Perform other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience/Training

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferredMinimum three (3) years of experience and demonstrated track record in development, with experience in youth development, human services, and/or K-12 education sectors preferredExperience engaging and partnering with Seattle-area funders and community-based organizations preferredStrong computer skills (Microsoft Office), Salesforce experience preferredSkills/Abilities
