Director, Pricing Operations + Strategy

ABOUT THIS POSITION

As the Director of pricing strategy and effectiveness, you will be a key member of the commercial operations management team. In this role, you will partner with executive leadership and peers in product, finance, sales, and product marketing to provide pricing strategies that support Waystar’s growth goals.

Specifically, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of pricing, defining the annual price increase strategy, and maintaining competitive list price as well as executing operations that will be critical to price book accuracy.

The successful candidate will have a combination of strong leadership, SKU/pricing management experience, analytical data insight skills, and ability to establish and implement processes that comply with corporate policies. Additionally, the candidate should have firsthand experience planning, designing, and executing pricing initiatives, defining business requirements, measuring strategy outcomes, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Design and implement pricing programs across various markets, including annual price uplifts, list pricing, and pricing algorithms based on client and market feedback

Perform detailed analyses of new products and drive the development of list prices

Design and report metrics of business, financial, and operational performance with regards to pricing and discounting

Create presentation materials for executive leadership and Board meetings which report on the status and success of pricing activities

Develop and support internal controls over pricing activities to ensure corporate compliance

Coordinate pricing efforts and projects across departments and teams, including leading efforts to automate pricing related workflows

Build relationships with all relevant internal clients, partners, and other key stakeholders

Maintain a current and in-depth understanding of the events and offerings within the healthcare technology market and gather competitive intelligence on pricing methodologies used within the overall market

Proactively and independently find opportunities for improvement

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business, accounting, mathematics, or similar

7+ years of successful analytical and cross-functional project work experience required

Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate the results of complex analyses with team members, executives, vendor partners, and clients

Ambitious and results-focused with ability to manage an internal P&L (based on price lift achieved and executed) that will also directly drive variable compensation.

Ability to work cross-functionally to collect input and drive best pricing solutions

Passion for learning and self-development with a desire to learn all Waystar products

Strong understanding of financial metrics and accounting concepts. Knowledge of US GAAP preferred
