What We Need:

The Underwriting Specialist is responsible for providing support to all Financial Underwriters. The Underwriting Specialist helps ensure accurate submission of prospect & preparation of quotes for New Business, completion of ERISA Form 5500 for external customer’s tax usage and verification of rating for all market segments for internal and external auditing. They work cross-functionally to coordinate key processes including underwriting participating guidelines, member underwriting participating guidelines, and member underwriting review. The Underwriting Specialist is the initial point of entry for all New Business Prospects submitted by Sales and prepared for quoting by New Business Underwriters.

Your Day to Day:

Monitor Underwriting inbox for new prospects, validate submissions to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance, communicate results of reviews to appropriate sales and underwriting teams, prepare initial quote documentation and start quote process via data entry into rating system.

Prepare and validate ERISA Form 5500 worksheets. Coordinate distribution dates and ensure communication of availability with Sales partners. Provide consistent follow-up to emails sent from sales, to ensure complete resolution to broker/account inquires on 5500 worksheets.

Assist in record competitive information based on quote submissions.

Previous health insurance experience preferred but not required.

What You Bring:

High School diploma required \ An Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

Strong PC skills, including required proficiency in with the following software: Microsoft Office

Hourly Range: $29.58 - $36.16

The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
