Position DescriptionPlans and directs the overall operation of a major department (with institutional oversight) and provides leadership for staff members. Meets ORP eligibility requirements. Under executive direction, performs highly varied administrative duties involving the use of independent judgment and professional skills. Responsible for all employees assigned to area.

Major/Essential FunctionsResponsible for planning, directing, and implementing the day-to-day operations of new academic programs, such as the Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences.Responsible for planning, directing, and implementing the day-to-day operations of established academic programs, such as the M.S. in Biomedical Sciences and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (dental/medical track), and the summer internship program.Responsible for ensuring that all FGSBS activities align with the TTUHSC El Paso Strategic plan along with other reporting agencies.Responsible for all employees assigned to the FGSBS. Oversees recruiting, training, coaching, and retention.Responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans for all FGSBS units.Responsible for developing and implementing FGSBS policies, guidelines, and procedures for its academic and administrative units.Responsible for the overall financial operations of the FGSBS. Provides financial analysis and recommendations to guide the organization’s financial decisions.Responsible for the Banner student system for course-building for curriculum requirements and student data entry for admission and graduation purposes. Oversees the processing of all student applications for all the FGSBS programs.Responsible for overseeing course management, class scheduling, audiovisual and classroom support. Oversees processing and maintenance of student files, degree plans, student records, and database information on all FGSBS students.Responsible for developing and implementing FGSBS policies and processes. Oversee the development of new programs.Responsible for overseeing support provided to committees appointed by the Dean of GSBS. Advises faculty on GSBS policies.Serves as the liaison for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.Responsible for submitting reports and answering data requests to meet SACSCOC requirements.Serves as key representative of the FGSBS. Maintains open communication and good collaborative relationships with institutional leadership.Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures, and processes.Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.Perform all other duties as assigned.

Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience working at an institution of higher education is preferred.Experience managing sensitive information is preferred.Knowledgeable of HIPAA and FERPA regulations is preferred.Knowledgeable of Finance and Administrative regulations is preferred.
