Hiring for a Firmware/Embedded Software Engineer in either Cedar Rapids, Iowa, or Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer with a strong knowledge in electrical engineering or software engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field. In this role, you will be responsible for developing RTOS code for the Powerlink product, a lighting system used in various applications such as offices, stadiums, and industrial settings.

Hard Skills

Experience with embedded RTOS development (e.g., Micrium uC/OS, VXWorks, embOS, FreeRTOS)

Experience with 16-bit and 32-bit microcontroller-based designs

Proficiency in coding with C and C++ for microcontroller applications

Experience coding HTML for embedded device user interfaces

Knowledge of microcontroller security methodologies

Familiarity with communications technologies and protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, TCP/IP

Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Detail-oriented and organized

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Cedar Rapids, Iowa OR Raleigh, NC!

Work Environment

This role will be primarily office-based with some exposure to test labs. The focus will be on developing RTOS code for the Powerlink product.
