We are on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced Permanent Staff Accountant to join our fast-paced, scientific industry team. This role is crucial to maintaining financial order within our organization, ensuring all accounting allocations are appropriately made and documented. Responsibilities

As a Staff Accountant, your responsibilities will be diverse and challenging, offering you a chance to make a significant impact on our organization. Your tasks will include:

  1. Managing all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation.
  2. Assisting in the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
  3. Participating in the preparation for the annual audit.
  4. Maintaining company accounting procedures and processes.
  5. Preparing financial statements for internal and external use.
  6. Researching and analyzing expense variances for company management.
  7. Ensuring compliance with all internal processes.
  8. Reviewing company financial reports and seeking ways to reduce costs.
  9. Analyzing market trends and project cost.
  10. Ensuring all accounting practices align with state and federal government regulations.
  11. Managing tax provisions, tax compliance, and tax planning.
  12. Overseeing asset control, ensuring all assets are accounted for and in good condition.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional knowledge of Excel and accounting software systems.
  4. Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  5. Knowledge of local, state, and federal tax compliance regulations and reporting.
  6. Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
  7. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
  8. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.
  11. Proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who will own, in partnership with the CFO, the responsibility for finance.
