Automotive Mechanic I

This position is located within our Flexible Assembly Operation at our Livonia, MI facility

Flexible Assembly provides assembly services to many of the leading edge companies in the automotive industry

Products we produce for our customers consist of Off-Road tactical military vehicles, Self driving / Autonomous vehicles & Electric vehicles just to name a few

These low volume, highly technical projects make for a very exciting work environment where you learn cutting edge technology on a regular basis

Qualifications

3 years of recent experience as an Automotive Mechanic.

High school diploma or equivalent

Must have basic understanding of automotive systems

Must be mechanically inclined

Must be able to use manual tools and power equipment safely

Must have strong mechanical aptitude and ability to problem solve

Must have good organizational skills

Must have good attention to detail

Must possess the skills to read, comprehend and execute written procedures

Must be a self-starter, self-motivated and willing to learn

Good oral and written communication skills

Must have excellent attendance and be willing to work overtime/weekends when needed

Preferred Skills

Automotive electrical systems experience a plus

Experience working on EV's a plus

Candidates are encouraged to have a basic set of mechanic tools, but not required for this position.

Education and Experience (required):

High school diploma or equivalent.

3 years of previous experience as an Auto Mechanic required.

Education and Experience (preferred):

Certificate in Automotive Technology or related.

National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s).

State Mechanic Certification(s).

Valid driver's license.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (required):

Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment.
