Manufacturing Technician

Monday - Friday, 2p-10:30p **Some flexibility on the shift, could start as early as 12p.

$20/hr.

$1,000 Recruiting Bonus

Summary: 

Washing and sterilizing tanks utilizing high and low pressure water systems and high temperature steam.

Under limited supervision, this position will work in a fast paced, environment performing production procedures in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This person must be self-directed often working independently. They must be detailed oriented.

This position will perform the following functions and other tasks, as needed:

The job environment is often wet as washing tanks require copious amounts of water. The person must be safety oriented due to working with live steam, cleaning chemicals, pressurized tanks, pressurized with both air and steam. PPE is required and this position must be able to function while wearing PPE. This person will operate production equipment, including start up, minor adjustments, and quality monitoring as required. Basic mechanical skills and aptitude is needed for this role. The use of hand tools is required. Responsible for complete and accurate documentation. Clean and sanitize work areas as necessary, in accordance with SOP. This position will be interpreting low level data using SCADA trending system as well as printing trending reports.

Quals--

HS Diploma or equivalent required, BS in Biology or related Science strongly preferred. Relevant manufacturing experience (1-3 Years)

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds on an intermittent basis.
  • Comprehensive understanding of aseptic process in daily activities.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of Good Documentation Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Basic awareness of quality improvement tools and MPS processes.
  • Understanding and awareness of USDA regulations.

Dress and Conduct Requirements

The work is being performed in a clean and controlled environment. Gowning requirements include: All personnel will wear safety glasses, head/hair covers, facial hair covers (if necessary), company-furnished uniform, and safety shoes. No watches, fitness trackers, bracelets, earrings, rings or JEWELRY OF ANY KIND is permitted. No personal cell phones are permitted. Wearing of makeup, nail polish, applied eye lashes, and acrylic nails is prohibited. Food, beverages, candy or gum, is strictly prohibited in the production area at all times. Smoking or the use of smokeless tobacco or similar products is prohibited at the De Soto facility. Familiarity with computer systems such as Microsoft Office and Outlook is required. The requirement for computer based skills is necessary as this is a daily activity of this position.
