Talbots is hiring a Senior UX designer to lead interaction and visual design of the Talbots ecommerce shopping experience. An ideal candidate is a student of human-centered design, has a passion for making positive changes and inspiring innovative thinking among both teammates and stakeholders. From a skills perspective, you possess mastery of UX methodology tools across research, ideation and prototyping, interaction design, visual design and usability testing. Customers are the center of your universe, you are always looking for ways to improve your understanding of their needs, and expert in designing those needs into great experiences. You are responsive and approachable, eager to 'roll up your sleeves' and work in a vibrant, fast-paced, team-oriented, agile environment.

Principal Accountabilities :

Create information architecture, wireframe user flows, build interaction prototypes, high fidelity mockups and detailed UI and visual design specifications for web, mobile web and app interfacesCollaborate with product management and engineering teams from defining high-level design strategies through supporting product launchesPartner with product management on conversion optimization (AB test) program, identifying friction points and new experience opportunities, providing prototyping designs and deliverables in an agile environment, driving both higher customer satisfaction and site conversionRepresent the voice of the customer, based on customer research, analytic data, user experience best practices, and ecommerce industry expertiseDrive a sense of urgency in the team to deliver work, emphasizing the use of lean tools and techniques to more rapidly deliver workAnticipate obstacles and friction, effectively articulate and manage risks, trade-offs, and recommend prioritization based on a balance of customer impact, business needs, and technical constraintsCommunicate designs and drive alignment with teammates and stakeholders from low-fi wireframe concepts to final hi-fi designsNot afraid to wear multiple hats - no job being too small or too largeInternal and External Relationships :

5-7 years of relevant work experience, with proven success designing and optimizing branded ecommerce and transactional experiencesBachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experienceStrong design thinking, human centered design skills with expertise in user-centric design processes and execution across all levels (strategy through execution)Responsive, approachable and proactive team player who is comfortable leading conversations and speaking upPassion for delivering outstanding digital retail customer experiencesExpert experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe IllustratorExpert experience with interactive prototyping tools, preferably InVisionExperience with Sketch or Adobe XD is strongly preferred, with ability to mentor skills to partner teamsDemonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and a willingness to keep their skills and industry knowledge currentExperience working with remote teams, self-directed and capable of working in a fast-paced environmentExperience working in an agile environment, with multiple projects and tight timelinesExperience working collaboratively in a dynamic environment, with changing priorities and multiple stakeholdersAn online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices
