Job Summary:
As a software manager working for LG Energy Solutions, Michigan Inc., you will be leading a team of software developers, technical specialists, diagnostics algorithm engineers, & project managers within the Software Applications department.
You will lead in delivering world-class Battery Management software to various OEMs, with innovative solutions and quality. These innovative solutions will include implementing new technologies, such as AutoSAR, Cybersecurity, Next-Gen State of Battery Algorithms, Enhanced Diagnosis Protocols, and Cloud Based Data Processing. The software manager will be involved in the complete lifecycle of the project, from initial requirements gathering and in to mass production.
Responsibilities :Provide technical direction to team of embedded software engineers, software project managers, & diagnostic engineers to deliver battery management software to internal & external stakeholdersExecuting the delivery of battery management system using software best practices, innovative solutions, optimized code, automation testing methods all while meeting quality & on-time metricsMentors direct reports and motivates team members to continuously collaborate, learn and develop skillsets. Provides training opportunities, benefits packages, promotions, performance improvement plans as requiredStrong collaboration with cross functional team members to resolve technical issues, review requirements, design, & test resultsChairs the software change control board & software technical design review meetings. Active participant in critiquing software requirements, design, test results and providing technical guidance to the teamLeads the creation of performance objectives that align with company goals and cascades them to each engineer. Responsible for providing mid-year & end of year feedback to engineerMaintenance of headcount and budgeting for software development team. Updates as needed throughout the year based off new programs, requirements updates.Qualifications :
Bachelors (required)/Masters (preferred) in Electrical or Computer Engineering with an emphasis on software development for embedded systemsExperience
10+ years of team leadership of direct reports including hiring/recruiting, performance management metrics, budgeting, headcount, and day to day guidance & mentoring of staff10+ years of experience in developing software using C/C++ & model based development tools. Development skills focused on software best practices, optimization of code, implementing innovative solutions, re-usability, maintainability, and traceability.Development & strong understanding of software in compliance of formal ASPICE based engineering discipline, ISO26262, and standards for models and hand written “c” source codeSkills
Experience in leading software development for automotive production program, with full involvement from project kick-off to mass productionAbility to interface with various cross-functional departments within an organization to align on requirements, design reviews, change requests, & resolution of challenging technical issues.Utilization of requirements management, configuration management, change management, & project planning toolsFluent communication skills in English & ability to present technical issues, design changes, project status reports, and performance metrics to senior leadershipSkilled in Microsoft Office Tools
