Position Summary

KOB is looking for an experienced Fire Protection & Life Safety Outside Sprinkler Sales and Estimator who will be responsible for covering TBD territory. You are highly motivated and ambitious to develop, estimate, deliver Fire Sprinkler Systems designs and quotations to general contractors and oversees. This position requires a combination of NFPA technical knowledge of Fire Sprinkler Systems and attention to design detail to estimate complete solutions to the end-user. This position will report directly to the Sales Manager.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesUtilizing your experience in the sales industry you will proactively identify, pursue, and maintain a constant pipeline of potential customers via prospecting, networking, and referral activities within your regionDevelop new client relationships to increase sales volume in the areas of construction managers, general contractors, subcontractors, industrial, commercial and institutional owners, in accordance with guidelines as established by the corporationMaintain client relationships to ensure that the company retains its customer base and increases total sales volumeReview and analyze weekly cost reports to evaluate that job costs are proper in relation to estimated costs to assure accuracy of estimateInterpret bid documents, plans, and specifications to prepare complete and explicit preliminary designs to insure accurate estimated costsPrepare complete explicit proposals and specifications to provide an accurate and detailed scope of work and exclusionsAnalyze specifiations for payment terms, insurance requirements, retainage and liquidated damages to assure that all costs are included in estimate for any unusual requirementsResearch and determine the need for subcontractors; obtain competitive quotations to produce a complete and competitive bid proposalProvide proper information to design, construction manufacturing and project managers for efficient scheduling, shipping, installation and completion of contractIdentify and obtain all extras to the contract in conjunction with the project managers to ensure project profit objectivesParticipate in any necessary decision-making during contract duration working with the project manager and project designer to provide background project information and assure project profit objectivesAttend pre-bid meetings to develop a complete and thorough understanding of project requirementsMake necessary surveys of buildings and review pipe locations to provide necessary information to prepare an accurate job estimateInvestigate trends and fluctuations in the fire protection market, by following thru with the project to determine who was awarded jobsParticipate in associations, networking functions, and community outings to gain Kistler O’Brien Fire Protection name recognition and build community relationsQualifications and Requirements:

Two plus years B2B sales experience requiredExperience in the Fire Protection industry preferredCapable of learning and retaining technical product knowledge in a timely mannerExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExceptional customer service skillsProficient with computers, especially Microsoft Office programsHigh School Diploma or GED required, college degree preferredTravel RequiredMust have a valid driver's licenseWe are Seeking to Retain Our Employees by Offering a Comprehensive Benefits Package:
