Job DetailsWe are seeking a dynamic and highly-experienced Financial Controls Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a focus on financial controls, reporting, and compliance. This position is permanent and offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, with a focus on improving financial processes and controls across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the design, implementation, and documentation of accounting and financial reporting process controls to ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Drive the company-wide monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring all balances are appropriately supported and explained.
- Facilitate the mid-year, interim, and year-end external audit process, liaising with external auditors and preparing all necessary documentation.
- Conduct technical IFRS research to provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Collaborate with various departments to improve financial processes and controls, identifying areas of risk and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Utilize SAP FICO to manage financial data and generate reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation required.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the Construction industry.
- Extensive experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proven experience in public accounting.
- Strong experience with SAP FICO.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and document accounting and financial reporting process controls.
- Experience managing company-wide monthly close processes and preparing balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Proven ability to facilitate external audit processes.
- Strong research skills, with the ability to conduct technical IFRS research.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
