Certifications: COVID-19 Vaccine required; Medical/Religious Exemptions and Declinations Allowed; Flu Vaccine status unknown Must-Have: Experience in Critical Care Department - MICU, SICU, IMCU, with capability to float to Tele/Med/Surg and other campuses as needed. Job Description: - Local candidates approved only for variable shift positions.- Care for all types of patient populations except cardiovascular and neuro.- Staff may move among different units.- Perform chest tube set-up and care, CPAP/BiPap, RSI - Rapid Sequence Intubation.- Provide trach care and manage vents.- Administer blood and blood products.- Perform cardioversion and defibrillation.- Utilize cooling and warming blankets.- Manage CRRT/Dialysis, CVP, and PA lines.- Operate a rapid infuser and perform sheath removal.- Utilize PCA pumps, PICC/Central Lines, and Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access/Care.- Handle syringe pumps and triple lumen catheters.- Operate wound vacs, drains, epidural pumps, and feeding tubes.- Medications include Amiodarone, antiarrhythmics, antipsychotics, antiseizure, atropine, beta blockers, and more.- Compliance with travel guidelines; previous permanent employees must have a minimum separation of 3 months to qualify.- Floating to another unit within the scope of practice may be required.- Responsibility for transportation to alternate facilities within a 40-mile radius.- Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours.- A full year of references required to confirm one year of employment within the last 3 years. Orientation: 40 hours (Non-Billable) Reference Requirements: Must cover 1 year of employment within the last 3 years.
