Mercy Imaging Centers a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation provides cutting-edge diagnostic imaging services at 16 locations in the greater Sacramento and Woodland areas. Our team of 160 staff members work with our specialty trained and board certified radiologists to provide high quality care to our patients. The locations perform more than 175000 exams annually with the goal of providing top quality imaging compassionate care and timely service with a smile. Responsibilities Under the direction of management, prepares, measures and administers radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies according to written or transcribed verbal orders of a physician within the scope of his/her certification, as well as established standards and practices. The incumbent will demonstrate competency for adult and geriatric patients. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: - Graduate of an accredited program of nuclear medicine by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT) - Current CNMT (Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board) and/or ARRT-N (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Current California State Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (with Venipuncture) by CDPH - Current American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers Certification Special Skills: - Demonstrated knowledge of: anatomy and physiology (to include cross-sectional anatomy when required) pathology medical terminology and pharmacology; radiation safety standards in alignment with ALARA principles in a patient examination environment; currently accepted diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures; routine quality control and quality assurance; preparation proper use and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals. Effectively and empathetically deal with any agitated ill and/or potentially uncomfortable patients by calming and reassuring them. Exhibit compassion and courtesy in dealing with patients coworkers visitors and the general public while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with physicians as well as collegues Work effectively under stress and adjust priorities as circumstances require while maintaining a high degree of detailed accuracy and complete records. Must be able to work in fast changing and challenging situations as well as take appropriate actions in emergent situations. -Requires critical thinking skills solution-oriented problem-solving decisive judgment and the ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision. Maintains mandated licensure as well as current continuing education requirements Training: - Ability to perform general and specialized nuclear medicine procedures which meet the departments standard of quality recognize and respond to any adverse reaction as well as life-threatening patient conditions which might arise during the examination process Demonstrate proficiency in peripheral IV placement and venipiuncture. Preferred Qualifications: - One (1) year of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist preferred - Bachelors degree (BA or BS) preferred
