Senior Hadoop Administrator

Our client, a leader in the financial services industry, has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Hadoop Administrator to work on a hybrid 12-month contract in either Alpharetta, GA, or New York, NY. This is a hybrid position with onsite work three days a week. The pay rate is $71.52/hour w-2 or $82.89/hr c2c. This position is available for W-2 only or C2C. Candidates local to Alpharetta, GA, or New York, NY, are preferred. Secondary locations include Chicago, IL, Menlo Park, CA, or Jersey City, NJ. This package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, prescription drug coverage, life insurance, 401(k) with matching, weekly payment, and more, making it a unique and attractive offer.Responsibilities of the Senior Hadoop Administrator:Design and configure Hadoop clusters and provide ongoing server maintenance.Manage the commissioning and decommissioning of nodes in the Hadoop cluster.Administer the overall Hadoop infrastructure, ensuring capacity planning and monitoring performance.Handle data replication and apply encryption to secure Hadoop cluster data.Collaborate with teams to implement configuration changes and troubleshoot issues.Requirements for the Senior Hadoop Administrator:Expertise in setting up Hadoop clusters from scratch and managing maintenance (Cluster commissioning and decommissioning, Cluster capacity planning/management, Cluster monitoring, connectivity, and performance).Experience Implementing, managing, and administering the overall Hadoop InfrastructureStrong experience with Hadoop services (HDFS, Hive, HBase, Impala, etc.).Experience with Cloudera CDP upgradesProficiency in Unix shell scripting and network security settings for Hadoop pipelines.Preferred skills:Familiarity with the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) and Hadoop integration.
