Collaborate with operational leadership, sales teams, and senior management to align our network strategy with customer needs, e-commerce initiatives, and overall growth objectives. Monitor network capacity, conduct comprehensive long-range capital planning, and optimize the distribution center network to meet future demands. Lead a team, develop roadmaps for network change, and foster a motivated and engaged workforce to drive organizational success. Paid holidays, vacation time, sick leave accrual, college tuition reimbursement, and more ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Plan and implement activities related to the assigned medium tier goods and services. Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure distribution center capabilities align with customer requirements, growth plans, and technology roadmaps. Develop system-wide capacity and network planning efforts, identifying strategic opportunities based on company initiatives. Create accurate distribution center capacity reports and project future capacity needs to develop network expansion plans. Evaluate current operations and identify opportunities for strategic improvements. Monitor and analyze competitor business practices and technological advances to identify competitive advantages. Achieve transformation strategy through effective capacity planning, new builds/locations, distribution center design, capital improvements, project management, and supply chain solutions. Identify strategic implications and opportunities for the warehouse resulting from major corporate strategies and change initiatives. Lead a team dedicated to improving the use of slotting optimization in the warehouse, ensuring the most efficient placement of products, and maximizing space utilization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine accurate size requirements for future distribution center expansions based on projected customer demand and volume throughput. Conduct network optimization analysis to identify the optimal customer alignment for each distribution center in the network, considering factors such as customer locations, delivery routes, and service level requirements. Work closely with the sales teams to understand customer growth patterns and forecasted volume, incorporating this information into the network optimization analysis. Utilize data analytics and demographic analysis to identify areas with potential increased demand and recommend the addition of new distribution centers or consolidation of existing ones. Collaborate with the construction and real estate teams to assess building expansion opportunities and evaluate the costs of construction and leasing in various markets. Work with the competitive intelligence team to gather insights on competitor locations, capacity, and strategies, and develop strategies accordingly to ensure a competitive advantage. Develop and maintain an overall plan that outlines the transition to an efficient network of distribution centers, considering capital expenditure, return on assets, systems capabilities, and current capacity utilization. Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of the distribution center network, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements to optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to distribution center network strategy and operations. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business preferred; other applicable degrees with relevant experience will be considered. Experience (10 years) in designing, implementing, and supporting complex warehouse systems. 3 or more years of leadership experience. Deep understanding of distribution center operations and inventory management best practices. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to advocate for and present recommendations to executive leadership. Strong analytical and financial acumen, capable of translating strategy into an executable plan. Experience in strategic enterprise planning and execution. Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills. WORKING CONDITIONS: Hybrid Office environment.
