JOB SUMMARY:Visit San Antonio is a Destination Marketing Organization responsible with marketing San Antonio domestically and internationally as a premier tourism and meeting destination, thus driving economic development and impact in the community.About the position - Under general direction of Visit San Antonio's Graphic Designer, the Junior Graphic Designer is responsible for performing professional creative services in support of marketing, communications, and sales needs for the purpose of attracting and leisure visitors to San Antonio. The Junior Graphic Designer will execute graphic design and production ensuring visual alignment with overall brand efforts.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

Under the supervision of the Graphic Designer, the Jr. Graphic Designer will:Support Visit San Antonio's Sales, Marketing, Executive management and other teams with graphic design needs.Execute projects that meet objectives and ensure customer satisfaction both internally and externally.Utilize graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).Participate in design discussions and give feedback during planning and strategy meetings.Provide support in managing outside vendors for print, signage, amenities, photos, and video, while also ensuring high-quality output.Develop a variety of marketing materials, including flyers, signage, newsletters, digital and print ads, promotional items, and sales tools.Create presentations and templates using publishing software (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite).Assist with photography and sourcing images (stock photos and video footage).This position will also support photography needs for special events, outings, and internal requests.Perform other related duties as required.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (e.g., Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Multimedia Design or related fields).0-2 years of experience in graphic design.Portfolio showcasing creative designs across various platforms.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).A good understanding of visual design principles.Ability to work with both digital and print mediums.Familiarity with PowerPoint and iMovie.Knowledge of other design software (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Lightroom) and web design is a plus.APPLICANT INFORMATION:If selected for this position, official transcripts, diplomas, certifications and licenses must be submitted at the time of processing. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Skilled in graphic design software tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint.Must have a working knowledge of and MAC operating systems.Knowledge of working with multiple mediums, including online advertising, social media, website, print advertising and collateral, and broadcast.Ability to effectively work with a team of marketing and communications professionals.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with employees, management and the public.Ability to help brainstorm and offer ideas and possible solutions for marketing challenges and opportunities.Knowledge of modern business and office procedures.Skilled utilizing a personal computer and associated business software programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Ability to multi-task, work within tight deadlines, manage time wisely and be creative.Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.This position is a full-time position, subject to local travel and/or some evening and weekend hours on an as needed basis.
