Packaging Art DirectorPosition Summary:The Packaging Art Director is responsible for creating sustainable, inspiring, and innovative package designs for the client's brands. This role plays a key part in demonstrating creative vision, translating brand packaging concepts into captivating designs, and telling a compelling story through design.
Responsibilities:
• Produce high-level, on-strategy creative solutions that meet the standard of creative excellence• Develop original ideas and concepts that align with product briefs and brand strategy• Review proposed designs with Design Director and SVP of Packaging to ensure design aesthetics and requirements are met• Drive the execution of product branding by developing consistent product and packaging codes across core products, line extensions, seasonal campaigns, and promotions• Lead package design development for upcoming programs/launches on designated brands• Collaborate with product development and packaging teams to achieve the highest level of quality for each project while considering timing and cost limitations• Present packaging designs to cross-functional teams through development of 3D renderings and comps• Create various sizes/formats needed for products while maintaining original creative intent (including dies, bleed, trim, type safety) using Adobe Creative Cloud Suite tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign etc.• Liaise with Senior Production Artist to ensure accurate delivery of artwork within specified timelines
Qualifications
• Multi-disciplinary designer with 8+ years of overall experience in the beauty or fashion industry, with a focus on packaging design• BA or BFA in Design, Arts, and/or Graphic Design• Advanced/Expert skills in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, with a specialty within Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign• Detail-oriented designer comfortable with shifting design direction and working on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment• Strong interpersonal skills and creative problem-solving abilities• Self-starter who actively participates in all aspects of programs from concept through execution/li
