The VMware VDI Engineer will be a member of the Storage and Virtualization Team. The ideal candidate will be vital in designing, implementing, and supporting multiple VMware and Citrix VDI environments. The VDI Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless operation of virtual desktop infrastructure and contribute to optimizing our end-user computing environments. This role demands ensuring the stability and performance of existing infrastructure and actively contributing to various IT projects.Schedule:
Full TimeESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:Design, implement, and maintain a scalable and secure VMware VDI environment.Monitor and optimize virtual desktop pools for performance and end-user experience.Proactively identify trends and root causes of incidents, managing adverse events from identification to resolution.Lead infrastructure migration to resilient on-premises cross-site deployments and cloud platforms.Plan, test, schedule, and coordinate system upgrades and modifications.Ensure compliance with change management and security procedures according to organizational standards.Conduct metrics and capacity planning to maintain a stable performance environment.Research, analyze, design, document, test, and implement solutions for the end-user workspace environment.Mitigate risk by following established standards for vulnerability remediation.Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a collaborative team environment.Collaborate closely with project managers, technical leads, database administrators, and other team members to ensure timely and budget-compliant project implementations.Participate in a regular on-call rotation schedule.(The above statements in this job description are intended to depict the general nature and level of work assigned to the employee(s) in this job.
