Information Assurance Specialist Journeyman

to support a potential client in Indian Head, MD.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Contractor shall identify, counter, and mitigate system vulnerabilities and threats to the various network components that could result in damage, unauthorized modification or destruction of the network resources, unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information, or denial of service to authorized network users.The Contractor shall have knowledge of methods for developing, evaluating, coordinating, and disseminating security tools and procedures. The Contractor shall provide system security, in accordance with DoD, DoN, and local policy. In the event of the network being compromised, the Contractor must restore the services, capabilities, and security of network, along with the data stored therein.Perform risk assessments, accreditation, data calls, vulnerability assessments and information assurance requirements.Document the definition, production, and maintenance of security policy and documentation. Monitor, audit, and test systems and networks for possible security problems. Review security logs files on a daily basis and investigate anomalies.Test, install, and maintain security infrastructure tools that are Navy approved. Test and install patches and fixes for security vulnerabilities in vendor software on all servers and workstations affected.Provide investigation, coordination, reporting, and follow-up of network security Incidents.Provide analysis of internal projects that may have an impact on the security of the Network Apply Security patches and operating system updates as required by DoD and DoN (e.g. IAVA, IAVB, Navy Computer Incident Response Team (NAVCIRT) alerts, information operations conditions (INFOCON), Computer Task Orders (CTOs), and other alerts via military message traffic), and as dictated by good security practices and local protocol.Install and update anti-virus software and update virus signature files.Required Experience:

Active clearance.Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Field desired.High School Degree.Relevant experience performing the duties explained in the job announcement.
