Join us at AstraZeneca as the Director, Portfolio Contract Strategy. In this role, you will bring forward a marketplace perspective and pragmatic solutions to optimize patient access to AstraZeneca’s oncology treatment specifically in Lung Cancer and ImmunoOncology. You will develop contract and channel strategies that align with our Brand Team / Therapeutic Area business strategies for key oncology products. This position can either be remote or based at the Gaithersburg, MD campus.Accountabilities:As the Director of Oncology Contract Strategy, you will partner with customer-facing account teams in direct customer engagement around identified key initiatives. You will also collaborate with a wide variety of internal partners such as Value Strategy and Evidence, Oncology Market Access Strategy, Brand Leadership, Brand and Market Access Finance, Contract Operations, Compliance, and Legal. A key deliverable of this role is ensuring all contract strategies and offerings have financial justification and sound business judgment. You will also assess the performance of existing contract strategies & offerings and ensure they are fit for purpose within the Oncology therapeutic area.Essential Skills/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree; preferably in a relevant field (Marketing, Science, Economics, or Finance)5+ years of pharmaceutical or related healthcare businessDeep understanding of the US healthcare market access landscape and its diverse segments, with experience in Oncology or Specialty spaceAnalytical skills such as problem solving, forecasting, contract development, and financial modelingShown ability to lead in a matrix environment, and to handle multiple deliverables concurrently while securing cross-functional alignmentDemonstrated negotiation and relationship-building skillsDesirable Skills/Experience:

MBAPrevious managerial experiencePrevious experience/engagement with the specialty channel, Oncology providers, and payersUnderstanding of Market Access Operations, contract language, rebates, and chargebacksThorough understanding of AZ business model with specific knowledge of brand team operation, brand planning, and sales modelFinance and/or analytics backgroundContract development and negotiationClinical Savvy/Health EconomicsAt AstraZeneca, we play a critical role in making our pipeline accessible to patients.
