Position Summary

The Manager, Revenue Accounting, will lead special revenue accounting projects, collaborate with other departments to support commercial initiatives, and facilitate alignment between finance and commercial revenue.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for understanding commercial operations, budget and forecasting models and initiatives to ensure proper accounting and facilitate alignment between accounting and commercial model variances.

Collaborate and represent revenue accounting interests on commercial initiatives to identify impacts to business processes, revenue accounting systems, and reporting/data analytics.

Lead special revenue accounting projects and design accounting process and controls in coordination with other teams to ensure a comprehensive plan for complete and accurate financial statements is executed.

Oversee specialized revenue accounting activities in accordance with GAAP, established policies and procedures, and industry guidelines.

Identify and implement process improvement initiatives.

Manage and support month-end closing process and review monthly accrual account reconciliations.

Responsible for the establishment and documentation of proper internal controls through the definitions of appropriate policies, procedures, and controls.

Determine the accounting and procedural impact of new industry and regulatory mandates.

Support audits or financial regulatory reporting by Corporate Audit, external auditors, and government agencies.

Provide senior management information necessary to base strategic decisions.

Professional development and other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related working experience.

7 years related work experience with emphasis in accounting.

Strong collaboration, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work within strict deadlines.

Proficient in MS Office.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA.

3+ years internal or financial audit experience.

Airline experience (3 years).

Experience with SOX requirements and best practices.

Experience working with senior management levels, providing information and accounting guidance.
