As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. You will serve as the main contact for staff throughout the budget process, manage day-to-day operations, and prepare financial analyses to ensure the organization's financial health. Responsibilities

Manage ASCO’s annual budget process including communicating and assisting staff in developing program and department budgets, reviewing and finalizing budgets within defined parameters, and providing support to the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for presentation of budgets to the Finance Committee and Board.

Analyze monthly financial information (e.g. revenues, expenditures, and cash management) and provide explanation for all material variances against budget.

Prepare financial analyses and modeling of selected accounts and programmatic activities on a periodic and

ad hoc

basis, prepare quarterly financial statement analyses and dashboards for Finance Committee and Board meetings, and provide support in preparation for Finance Committee and Board meetings.

Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of universal and customized reports and tools for budget managers.

Develop, implement, and enforce organizational policies and procedures that leverage best practices to ensure the optimization of resources.

Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.

Provide back-up support to other ASCO entities as needed.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or combination of relevant work experience and education.

5-7 years of experience with continuous growth as a financial analyst or in a finance/accounting function.

Proficiency working with a sophisticated budget system; experience with Prophix is a plus.

Experience with implementing a budgeting tool is a plus.

Experience working with a relational database and generating management reports and financial statements.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs with advanced Excel experience and an openness to adapting to new technology.

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and ability to apply those concepts to the financials in order to provide meaning and commentary to the numbers.

Preferred Education and Experience

MBA Degree.

Experience working in a non-profit organization.

Ability to clearly and directly communicate to all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing.

Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills.

Ability to handle multiple tasks at a given time, with the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities.

Work EnvironmentFast-paced environment with extended periods seated or standing in front of a computer and usage of other office technology equipment.
