The Aquatics and Family Program Manager oversees all Aquatics Programs and works with the Assistant VP of Program to provide quality Family Programs throughout the year.Supervisory Responsibilities:

Approximately 30 seasonal staff.Essential Functions:Aquatics Program Responsibilities:

Understand and implement all YMCA, Red Cross, state, and local health and safety requirements.Conduct lifeguarding, water safety instructor, swim instruction, First Aid, and CPR training.Manage all waterfront activity, including two beaches and one boat house.Create and schedule lifeguard training, water safety instructor training, water safety lessons, swim and water fitness classes, family aquatic programs, and other related programming.Maintain adequate staffing through recruiting, training, hiring, and evaluation.Ensure compliance with waterfront/pool maintenance, staff training, and certification records.Maintain certification readiness and attain necessary YMCA certifications within specified timeframes.Follow and maintain sanitary habits in accordance with CDC guidelines.Monitor daily waterfront/boat house/beach operations to adhere to health and safety regulations.Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and facilities.Manage the Safety Around Water program and ensure the program curriculum follows YUSA guidelines.

Family Program Responsibilities:

Works with the Assistant VP of Programs to coordinate Family Programs during the summer, supervising and training staff to provide weekly events.Works with the Assistant VP of Programs to coordinate Special Events, Holiday events, and other Seasonal activities.Works with the Assistant VP of Programs to coordinate Family Weekends in the Fall, Winter, and Spring.Works with community organizations to provide family programs at special events related to aquatics activities.

Risk Management Committee Responsibilities:

Serves as a member of the Risk Management Committee.Maintain CPR/First Aid and Emergency equipment throughout the association.Provide annual CPR/First Aid training for all year-round and specific seasonal staff.

Other Responsibilities:

Ensure high-quality programs through program development, evaluations, and ongoing staff training.Attend meetings and actively participate in training sessions and events.Work with the Assistant VP of the Campus and Conference Program to develop, implement, and monitor the program budget to meet fiscal objectives.Respond to member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.Work with the Assistant VP to provide conference programs: Leadership, Team Building, Recreational Activities, Adventure Course.Work with the Youth and Teen Director in offering enrichment programs at the Teen Center.As a year-round 24-hour operation, all staff may be asked to work weekend, evening, or night shifts and/or holidays in order to serve our members, guests, and program participants.Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Minimum of a bachelor's degree or comparative experience in a related field.Minimum of 3 years of Aquatics management experience.Required Certifications - must be obtained within the first year of employment: YMCA or Red Cross Aquatic Certifications, including Bloodborne Pathogens, Lifeguard, Professional Rescuer/CPR/FIRST AID/AED/O2, Swim Lesson Instructor, Aquatic Management, YMCA Aquatic Safety, Swim Lesson, Adaptive Swim, and Water Exercise, LGI and WSIT, NY State Safe Boaters License.Preferred Certifications: USAA Archery Instructor, Level I Certification for Challenge Course, Wilderness First Aide or Wilderness First Responder.Good interpersonal relationship skills and self-motivation.Belief in the mission of the YMCA, exhibiting the mission statement personally and professionally.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.Prolonged periods of being outdoors.Able to lift at least 50 pounds.Benefits:

$58,500.00 - $71,150.00
