About the role:The Product Manager, Enterprise Security, is a unique opportunity to create and build the business and product outcomes for our core detection capabilities. We’re looking for someone who is customer-obsessed, deeply understands their product line, enjoys building early-stage products, and is accountable for executing the roadmaps they make with their teammates.

What you’ll do:

Drive a portion of the roadmap for Splunk Enterprise Security to delight Splunk customers, with a focus on detection content strategy, development and distribution

Build solid executive relationships with customers and support Executive Briefings

Be directly accountable for the reliability of detections, especially with respect to data requirements and dependencies, as well as detection distribution and delivery to Enterprise Security and related Splunk apps

Partner with engineering on headcount planning, delivery schedules, and cloud operations needs

Cross functionally work with Splunk platform team on relevant GDI areas

Partner with Splunk Threat Research Team to understand data requirements and distribution processes

Deeply understand customer needs, threat landscape, and competition to drive Enterprise Security detection content adoption and top of the market position

Drive the performance, scalability and resilience of detections

Directly engage with the sales team to understand strengths, weaknesses, and market conditions in selling your products

Assist sales and marketing in positioning your products in sales opportunities to support sales in deal structuring. Provide direct engagement for early sales opportunities

Partner with fundamental industry analysts to deliver successful outcomes for industry research and publication

Regular engagement with customers at all levels (technical users through CxO) to deeply understand the perception of the security products, with a focus on detection content

Own the product requirements while working closely with key stakeholders including customers, sales, engineering, threat researchers, designers, and other product management leaders to ensure the delivery of an integrated experience

Establish clear metrics and KPIs to continuously evaluate portfolio performance and feature usability with a direct feedback loop into the product roadmap

Develop a deep understanding of the market landscape and identify key areas of competitive differentiation and market disruption

Work closely with Executives, Marketing, Sales, PR, Design, and Support teams to successfully bring to the market new Enterprise Security features

What you’ll bring:

Strong awareness and understanding of the security market in general, and specifically in the areas of threat detection content as it relates to core SOC and Detection Engineering use cases

Adaptable presentation abilities to present to CxO level audiences as well as technical users of products

Experience delivering products through a modern cloud-native enterprise sales process

Technical skills strong enough to link architectural decisions to business impacts and deliver live demonstrations of the products

Experience with adapting product pricing, GTM strategies, cost models, and promotions to drive business outcomes

Domain experience in SIEM products and other SOC tools

Experience and understanding of SIEM detection content development, threat detection market, and threat landscape

Splunk technical familiarity and hands on experience a big plus

Base Pay Range : SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area: $159,200.00 - 218,900.00 per year; California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts: $143,280.00 - 197,010.00 per year; All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area: $127,360.00 - 175,120.00 per year.

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate.

In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
