bh+a is a 45-person architecture, planning and interior design firm with an extensive portfolio in multifamily housing, affordable housing, restoration and adaptive reuse, workplace, recreational facilities, and senior/community centers that is constantly recognized for innovative design.bh+a is seeking a detail oriented, creative and highly motivated full-time project architect who will work with the firm’s Principals to plan and design large-scale projects, including high-end multifamily housing, affordable housing and senior/community centers, from initial concept through construction completion.Responsibilities:Define design priorities and project vision by preparing preliminary sketches of design options in coordination with the project Principal;Lead the design process from schematic design through construction documents, preparing scaled plans, details, and specifications that are in line with client expectations, budget constraints, and code requirements;Coordinate with third-party consultants and internal team members to meet project milestones; andManage the construction administration process, including the review of RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, change orders, and attend OAC meetings, perform site walkthroughs, and prepare associated field reports.Required Skills:Ability to translate client ideas into visual ideas through sketches, drawings, and 3D models;Ability to review and coordinate engineering design documents (MEP/FP, Structural, Civil, etc.);Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously;Excellent verbal and written communication skills;Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills;Willingness to travel to jobs sites and be client facing;Extensive knowledge and experience with Revit is required;Proficient with Enscape, Photoshop, Bluebeam, InDesign, and Microsoft Office Suite.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in architecture is required from an accredited university (master’s degree preferred);8-10+ years of professional experience in architecture leading large-scale projects;Experience in design, documentation, and construction administration is required;Experience in wood frame design is required;LEED, Passive House, or other green certifications are highly encouraged; andActive licensure in MA is required.
