Responsibilities:
Position Summary:Incumbent is responsible for managing and coordinating all technical therapeutic and related work in Radiation Oncology, multispecialty suite, front and back office staff. The incumbent collaborates with the Director of Medical Physics in the development of new programs, improving the work unit and in developing, maintaining and updating departmental policies and other quality assurance documentation.

Leadership/Management: Develops and implements strategic plans, unit/department goals and objectives, business initiatives, and supporting financial plans and budgets; complies with all policies/procedures, applicable laws, regulatory agency requirements, codes of practice and organization work standards; assumes responsibility for decisions made; communicates effectively with all in and outside the organization to ensure prompt and proper information exchanges and issue resolution; is a coach and role model for staff and colleagues creating a work environment that fosters respect and positive morale and strong employee engagement; delegates appropriately providing adequate direction and follow-up; maintains records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements; demonstrates strategic and critical thinking; makes optimal use of resources; creates a safe work environment; allocates and prioritizes work monitoring performance standards for continuous performance improvement. 40%
Identifies and implements initiatives aimed at improving engagement and follows through on developmental opportunities. Provides effective and timely human resources management including hiring, firing, training / compliance, annual performance evaluations, and corrective action. 15%
Develops and executes short- and long-term goals for the department, consistent with established Medical Center goals and objectives. Effectively develops unit/department operational policies and procedures. 15%
Collaborates effectively with clinical and administrative leadership, physicians, nurses and a wide variety of other staff to ensure that service expectations and programmatic goals are met. Identifies strategies to improve resource utilization, service delivery, work flow, etc. as necessary to meet established expectations. 15%
Assures high patient satisfaction and serves as a role model for excellent service. Ensures all staff are appropriately trained and reinforces behaviors and standards among staff that lead to positive interactions with patients. Ensures timely resolution of patient complaints. 15%
Qualifications:Required Qualifications:
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Five (5) year’s work experience in an acute care radiation oncology environment, with some progressive supervisory/leadership experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Demonstrated knowledge of radiation oncology procedures, radiation physics, radiobiology, radiation protection, anatomy and positioning
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Ability to safely and accurately operate the radiation therapy equipment, linear accelerators, simulators and computers
Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous supervisory experience
Experience in radiation therapy residents training programs/student training
Experience in dosimetry
Experience in developing new procedures/programs for radiation oncology practices
Experience in computer informatics/networking associated with radiation oncology practices
Current BLS certification
Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
