This position is located at the Chicago-Water Tower Campus.Job Summary:Under general direction, the Director of Development, Arrupe College is responsible for establishing strategic short- and long-range fundraising goals for the University by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors for major and planned gifts. The Director develops and manages strategies and staff to achieve these goals.Duties and Responsibilities:Set and achieve fundraising goals and metrics for Arrupe College.Manage a broad portfolio of prospects for university programs and initiatives.Participate in the qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of major and principal gift prospects with a capacity of $100K – $5M.Partner with the Dean of Arrupe College and work closely with faculty and university leadership.Manage the total range of fundraising activities including solicitation and stewardship of an assigned portfolio.Make defined visits and solicitations per year to encourage philanthropic commitments.Provide support to the Dean and volunteer leadership for Arrupe College.Write and edit correspondence, proposals, and reports to prospective donors.Prepare contact reports on meetings and interactions with donors and prospects.Coordinate appointments and prepare materials for meetings with senior administrators.Work collaboratively to facilitate donor engagement and stewardship.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Education and/or Work Experience:Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in a higher education environment.Qualifications:3-5 years of relevant fundraising or sales experience in a complex organization.Demonstrated success in making and closing four and five-figure gift solicitations.Experience in higher education is a plus.3-5 years of significant leadership experience.Must have a successful track record of donor cultivation and solicitation.Computer Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledgeable in donor and fundraising databases.Working Conditions:Irregular hours may be required.Diversity and Inclusion Statement:Loyola University Chicago is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
