SUMMARY

The Manager of Loadmaster Operations will have full responsibility and accountability for the loadmasters operations planning, execution, development, and coordination. The Manager of Loadmaster Operations will support and comply with all government agencies local and international requirements, including company policies. The Manager of Loadmaster Operations will develop his direct reports and track the department's overall performance and financials. The position will analyze schedules, trends, and other factors impacting the workload and prepare strategic planning to provide the department with the most efficient, proactive, and economic driver decisions. The Manager of Loadmaster Operations will support and follow directives as assigned by the Sr. Manager Ramp Operations and Sr. Director Miami Hub Cargo Ops & Global Hazmat.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Loadmasters Manager is responsible for providing, as well as recording and reporting required loadmaster training.

Provide trained and qualified loadmasters for flight status on the B767 and 757 to service locations without company trained loadmasters.

Interviewing and hiring of loadmasters. Planning, assigning, and directing work. Evaluating performance. Rewarding and disciplining employees. Addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Direct and control loadmasters and equipment to efficiently complete the tasks within established company standards.

Monitor and/or conduct required training of loadmasters.

Enforce compliance with administrative policies, safety rules, and government regulations.

Analyze schedules, trends, and other factors which might affect workloads. Prepare work schedules which provide the most efficient and economical personnel coverage within company policies to meet expected operational demands.

Maintain optimum level of employee morale by proper and consistent discipline or commendation.

Ensure compliance with established company safety policies and procedures.

Ensure all reports are completed and submitted in a timely fashion.

Travel as required.

Manage and coordinate the updating, processing, and maintaining the trip envelope records according to the regulatory requirements and Amerijet Company Policies.

Approve quotes and confirm Special Cargo acceptance from the sales department, both domestic and international.

Provide Dangerous Goods initial and recurrent training to flight crew (Pilots and Loadmasters), in accordance with the GOM, DG regulations, and Amerijet Training Policies.

Manage, coordinate, and provide training to the contract Loadmasters in the out stations (USPS, SJU).

Conduct annual audits in the USPS stations.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of MIA Hub Operations.

JOB PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Qualifications

Knowledge of applicable FAA, TSA, and CBP regulations including standard security programs such as OSHA and DERM regulations.

Must have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a professional manner.

Knowledge and/or certification of Hazardous Materials handling.

Knowledge of the rulemaking process and ability to provide input to the process in the Company’s best interest.

Computer literate and specific background in the required subject areas.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Individual must possess a valid driver’s license and have maintained a safe driving record.

Detailed knowledge of Ground Handling requirements, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Knowledge of IATA ground handling procedures (SGHA).

Knowledge of IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO).

College Degree in aviation or equivalent experience in management of cargo/freight handling including customer service and ground handling of commercial aircraft.

Must have a valid unrestricted U.S. Passport and be willing to travel as part of the job.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear. The employee is often required to climb, kneel, crawl, or crouch down. There is minimal sitting in this job while operating at the ramp. The employee may be asked to carry 70 lbs or less, occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

TRAVEL

Must have an unrestricted US Passport and be able to travel domestically and internationally. This position requires domestic and international travel up to 75% of the time, including staying at locations abroad for up to 30 days.
