Make your Mark with Marriott! The Fairfield Inn & Suites Charlottesville Downtown/University Area is looking for a new Director of Sales to join our Team!

We have an exciting opportunity for our next Director of Sales to lead our sales efforts in representing our hotel's services and facilities to prospective clients of our busy hotel. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling market requirements and responding to sales inquiries from potential clients and customers seeking sleeping rooms, meeting space, and food and beverage services all while continuing to provide outstanding service to our guests.

$75,000 + Quarterly Bonus (Based on experience & performance)

The DOS will head up all sales efforts for this top performing hotel. This is a market based/driven position, which requires the DOS to be in the local community, building relationships with local contacts. We are looking for a team member who approaches their work with passion, enthusiasm, and attention to customer satisfaction. We use them as guides to make decisions and chart our course on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain top accounts and acquire new and competitor accounts.

Demonstrate a solid understanding of the Charlottesville/Albemarle County and surrounding area.

Proven experience in hospitality sales, highly motivated - a desire to be first in the market, exhibit excellent communication skills, be well organized, detailed and self-starting.

Accountable to market performance and potential performance, as well as budget, forecast and target goals, company sales audits and brand sales audits.

Demonstrate a solid sales background with proven results.

General knowledge of events and catering. Oversee Sales and Catering Coordinator and work closely with Food & Beverage department.

Conduct inside and outside sales calls.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Educational/Vocational Preparation:

Bachelor’s degree in Hotel/Restaurant management or Marketing. A combination of vocational sales training and/or on-the-job training may substitute for bachelor’s degree.
