Transmission and Distribution Line Project Engineer/ Project Manager

to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals.The primary duties of a Transmission and Distribution Line Project Engineer include serving as the Project Manager (PM) or in partnership with the Project Manager, responsible for technical execution of high voltage electrical transmission and distribution line projects of any size and complexity on schedule, within budget, and meeting HDR and client quality standards. A Project Engineer is responsible for technical execution of a project. Experience with overhead transmission line design and construction from 69kV thru 230kV is preferred.Additional duties include:Lead overall technical direction of projects.Serve as or support PM in scope, schedule, and work breakdown structure development and implementation, change management, and schedule management.Serve as or support PM for proposal development, progress assessment, and change management.Collaborate and communicate directly with clients on project updates and project meetings as necessary.Must thoroughly understand and implement the HDR Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements, processes, and procedures to deliver a world-class quality product to the client.Provide scheduling for and/or perform quality reviews for all deliverables. Ensure appropriate reviewer(s) are assigned.Coordinate with operations leaders for resource planning and management.Work independently and may direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise one or more EITs, CADD/Designers, and administrative staff.Independently coordinate the work of engineers and the balance of the team throughout an entire project life cycle.Participate in project reviews as needed.Participate in business development functions.May be engaged in a mentoring/training relationship with one or more junior engineers or designers.Actively engage in furthering knowledge of transmission design, technical ability, project phases and sequence, transmission deliverables, and leadership.Required QualificationsBS degree in Engineering required. A degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred.Alaska PE license or ability to obtain one within 6 months required.Minimum of 5 years of Transmission Line design experience required for Project Engineer, minimum of 10 years for Transmission Line Project Manager.Demonstrates leadership and communication skills.Track record of working cooperatively with diverse teams, regional, department, technical managers, and project staff.Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PLS-CADD suite required.
