Panel Design Engineer

Apple is looking for a world-class Thin Film Transistor (TFT) panel design engineer to design, develop and launch the next TFT technologies for the portable, laptop and desktop displays in Apple products. The TFT panel design team is responsible for delivering the advanced TFT panel designs and technologies to enable the world’s best display performance in Apple products. Individual will serve as a focal point in architecting and developing the total TFT pixel and panel designs for mass production. This includes TFT pixel/control circuit simulation, circuit layout/optimization, whole panel architecture/simulation, and co-existence simulations with other components in Apple products.DescriptionTFT panel architecture scoping and definitionTFT pixel and panel design, layout and parasitic parameter extractionTFT pixel and panel modeling, characterization, and validationFailure mode analysis, root cause investigation, and problem solving for mass-production display developmentNew TFT technology exploration, investigation, and validationCollaboration with cross-functional teams, including TFT process, Optics, Touch designers, Silicon designers, Mechanical Engineering and Product DesignCollaboration with external vendors for display manufacturingInternational business travel to support project implementationKey QualificationsStrong command of Electrical Engineering fundamentals (analog/digital circuit design)Experience with SPICE/Cadence modeling and simulation requiredExperience/in-depth technical knowledge of displays or related electronics preferredUnderstanding of Thin-Film Transistors and panel process preferredExperience in characterizing panel optical and electrical performance preferredExperience in designing and manufacturing high-volume display products is preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skills requiredEducation & ExperienceBS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experienceAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
