Assistant Director, Fan Engagement of Sports Marketing- Athletics

Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director, Fan Engagement, Sports Marketing and Promotions, the Assistant Director, Fan Engagement of Sports Marketing will support the execution of marketing strategies for Hampton Pirates Athletics. This position works independently, to carry out responsibilities for the development, coordination, and implementation of game day experience, digital marketing, and community outreach initiatives.
Job Duties:
Work with Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing to develop strategy to reach attendance and other fan development goals.
Communicate regularly with members for all other external units and coaching staffs to maximize collaboration.
Lead marketing, game day experience and ticket sales initiatives for Women’s Basketball.
Work with Director of Marketing to manage football tailgate sales and operations.
Assist with digital and social media marketing campaigns (website, email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
Partner with sales and service staff on community ticket programs (Youth Basketball, Elementary/Middle School rewards program, etc.).
Embodies the Hampton University core values: integrity, respect, decency, dignity, and responsibility.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or sports management.
2+ years of previous relevant experience in marketing, ticket sales, and/or fan experience.
Extensive functional knowledge of marketing.
Experience collaborating with coaches and serving student athletes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Presentation, planning and project management skills.
A knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations with a history of compliance.
Qualifications:
Experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, focus on Photoshop and Premiere.
Experience leading and supervising the work of junior staff and interns.
A demonstrated commitment to innovation and creativity.
Skills to think critically of new ideas that can support strategic plan development and execution.
