Job Overview:We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Shop Manager to oversee our equipment, tools, and shop operations. The Shop Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe management of all shop activities, including maintenance, repairs, inventory control, and team supervision. This role is critical in supporting our field operations by keeping all equipment and tools in excellent working condition.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee day-to-day operations of the shop, including equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory management.Supervise and schedule shop staff, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all company vehicles, machinery, and tools.Manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies, and ensure timely ordering and restocking.Conduct inspections of equipment to identify necessary repairs and prioritize work.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.Coordinate with field teams to support job site needs and ensure equipment availability.Develop and implement shop procedures to improve productivity and reduce downtime.Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inventory.Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source parts and services.
Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment repair preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a shop management role, preferably in the paving, excavation, or construction industry.Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, machinery, and vehicle maintenance.Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in inventory management and record-keeping software.Strong understanding of safety standards and regulations.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
