HARTZ Search invites you to explore an exciting opportunity with our client, OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, a 254-bed, acute care facility in Rockford, IL, for their President role. The President of Saint Anthony Medical Center will be reporting to the Western Region CEO and will work collaboratively across the region and market. The President acts as the leader of the healthcare entity at a facility level to ensure the organization operates in a fiscally responsible manner to fulfill OSF Healthcare’s strategy optimally. The President directs all internal operations of the hospital/medical center while developing and implementing short-term tactics within long-term strategies that provide high-quality and cost-effective health care.
OSF Saint Anthony is part of OSF HealthCare, a 16-hospital system which serves Illinois and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with a simple Mission: to serve with the greatest care and love. With 254 licensed beds, OSF Saint Anthony is known for being the first and longest-certified comprehensive stroke center and is the only burn unit in northern Illinois outside of Chicago.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports to the Western region CEO
5 Direct Reports and 1,200 FTEs
Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hospital/medical center.
Set hospital/medical center annual operations plan.
Execute a regional management plan for the hospital/medical center.
Ensure the sound fiscal operation of the hospital/medical center while promoting services that are produced cost-effectively.
Ensure compliance with the organization’s closing calendar, planning deadlines, and reporting requirements.
Direct the operations of clinical practices within the hospital/medical center to deliver on Ministry-wide/regional procedures and practices.
Request, and manage annual operations budget, including requests for investments in new services.
Execute the Ministry procedures to ensure that high-quality care is provided.
Continually monitor the hospital/medical center’s achievement of clinical care standards.
Ensure that the hospital/medical center retains full accreditation by The Joint Commission.
Execute standards and methods for measurement of hospital/medical center performance, ensuring the facility meets or exceeds the operational standards prescribed by accrediting agencies.
Recommend investments in new lines of business/services to the Regional CEO.
Leverage matrixed relationships through which the hospital/medical center Director of Finance, Director of IT, and Director of Patient Care/CNO connect directly with executive leadership Ministry-wide.
Establish an effective means to communicate throughout the hospital/medical center.
Own responsibility for surgical services and Colleges of Nursing or Rural Health Centers, as applicable.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Accounting, Finance or Business is required.
Master’s level coursework is preferred.
Experience:
Must understand healthcare operations and operational regulations that would normally be acquired over seven to ten years of progressively more responsible healthcare employment or closely related work experience.
