THE COMPANY:

Element Science, Inc. is a medical device and digital health company focused on developing solutions at the intersection of clinical-grade wearables, machine learning algorithms, and lifesaving therapies in order to address leading causes of death and hospitalization in patients with heart disease. Our first product, a wearable patch defibrillator, is initially targeted at treating the more than 500,000 patients in the US with an elevated temporary risk of potentially experiencing a lethal heart rhythm. SUMMARY OF ROLE:

Element Science is a rapidly expanding medical technology company seeking a highly experienced Vice President of Information Technology & Information Security to lead our IT and security operations. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of Durable Medical Equipment (DME), data architecture, and the integration of business processes with IT systems.

The Vice President, Information Technology, will be responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of our IT infrastructure, security protocols, and data architecture. This role will ensure that all IT systems, processes, and data structures are interconnected and optimized to support the company's growth and regulatory compliance needs. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in medical device IT operations, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, and data architecture, with a proven track record of scaling IT operations in a regulated environment.

This is an in-office hybrid position based in either our San Francisco or Redwood City, CA offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the company's business goals and regulatory requirements.Oversee the integration of IT systems with business processes, ensuring that data architecture is structured to support seamless operations across departments.Lead the selection, installation, and validation of IT systems and applications to support all functional areas, ensuring compliance with industry standards.Leverage AI tools and methodologies to analyze data, optimize business processes, and drive innovative solutions within IT.

Team Building & Leadership:

Build and lead a high-performing team of IT and security specialists.Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and career development opportunities to team members.Collaborate closely with functional stakeholders across departments to define and develop the technical requirements needed to support their respective systems and processes.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and excellence within the IT department.

IT Infrastructure & Data Architecture:

Design and implement a robust data architecture that ensures the connectivity of all business processes and IT systems.Ensure the scalability of IT infrastructure to support multi-site operations and future company growth.Drive the integration of IT solutions that enhance operational efficiency and improve the patient experience across the organization.Oversee the deployment and management of ERP and CRM systems to enhance operational efficiency.

Regulatory Compliance & Cybersecurity:

Ensure all IT operations and systems comply with relevant regulations.Lead the implementation of cybersecurity frameworks and achieve certifications as applicable.Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure that all data and IT systems meet the highest security and privacy standards.

Vendor Management & Budgeting:

Manage relationships with key IT vendors and consultants to deliver essential technologies and services.Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions that align with the company's financial goals.Provide strategic input on the acquisition of software, hardware, and IT services to optimize the company's technology stack.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.15+ years of experience in IT, with at least 7 years in a leadership role managing IT and security teams.Strong understanding of data architecture and its role in connecting business processes.Proficient in the latest technologies for IT systems and management within the medical device space.Thorough understanding of IT infrastructure and proficient in deploying ERP and CRM systems.Experience in leveraging AI technologies to enhance data-driven decision-making.Proven experience in deploying and managing cybersecurity frameworks and achieving relevant certifications.Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of IT professionals.Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively within a team and independently while managing multiple complex projects.Cloud certifications in AWS or Azure are preferred.Networking and cybersecurity certifications are a plus.

The salary for this exempt-level position will be based on experience and qualifications within an established pay range.

Pay Range: $260,000 - $285,000 + Annual Bonus
