Job Description - Development Coordinator, Communications and Events (3303477)The Development Coordinator of Communications and Events will support both the Communications and Events Teams as they carry out their fundraising responsibilities, reporting to the Director of Leadership and Annual Giving and the Director of Leadership Programs, Events & Special Projects, respectively. For the Communications Team, the Coordinator will help plan and execute annual giving efforts and donor communication projects, as well as provide general administrative support. For the Events Team, the Coordinator will provide administrative support for all fundraising and stewardship events and donor engagement initiatives, which include, but are not limited to, the Race for Rehab program, an annual golf tournament, third-party events, The President’s Council, and the Francis “Hooks” Burr Society. Following the successful conclusion of the $95 million-plus Campaign for Spaulding Research Institute in 2022, the Development Team is ramping up its activities to further bolster the network’s research and clinical missions through endowment and other philanthropic gifts, all to sustain Spaulding’s excellence for generations to come.Key Responsibilities:Communications and Leadership/Annual Giving SupportReporting to the Director of Leadership and Annual Giving, the DC supports the Communication and Leadership/Annual Giving program through project management, vendor relations, and donor stewardship.Assists with donor relations and stewardship by making outbound stewardship calls to donors.Assists the Director with direct mail appeals and e-solicitation project management, vendor communication, writing, production, and invoicing.Coordinates solicitation efforts for the Strength Fund members, our employee giving program. Works closely with the Director to explore ideas for recruiting and stewarding members.Assists with identifying and producing donor and patient stories through print and video.Project manages donor recognition opportunities, including plaques and donor wall.Other duties in support of the broader Communications Team as assigned.Events Team SupportReporting to the Director of Leadership Programs, Events & Special Projects, the Coordinator supports the overall fundraising activities and logistics for the team.With oversight from the Fundraising Events Manager, drives all auction/raffle solicitation efforts. Accurately records gift-in-kind items/services in the department’s ATLAS CRM. Oversees all logistics associated with management of auctions/raffles, such as writing descriptions, creating visuals, securing payment post-event, and coordinating delivery of items to winners.Seeks out budget relieving enhancements to maximize event attendees’ experience through the procurement of tastings, apparel, giveaways, guest/patient speakers, and more.Coordinates the scheduling of event donor committees and internal team meetings. Attends meetings and records minutes, as needed.Provides administrative and logistical support to the Race for Rehab Team, including tasks related to events and long runs, data entry and distribution of Team materials.At the direction of each Event Manager handles all event data in Atlas (CRM) donor database, creating records for new sponsors and in-kind donors, updating and maintaining event records, adding invitees, and ensuring event RSVPs and expenses are recorded in the Event Module.Prepares files containing event fundraising plans that will need to be uploaded by the Donor Systems Team, including sponsorship invoices generated by the Development Operations Coordinator.Tracks events inventory and maintain an organized storage closet.Availability outside of regular business hours (including some weekends) is required.Other DutiesWorks collaboratively with the Development Coordinators and Executive Assistant to provide office and administrative support back-up as needed.Education/DegreeRequired:

2+ years of experience with providing quality customer service and administrative support to management with proven professionalism and efficiency.Preferred:

Minimum of 1 year of donor database experience, preferably Blackbaud CRM, Raiser’s Edge, or similar platform. Experience in a development office working with a variety of fundraising initiatives.LicensureRequired:
