Job Description
Turner & Townsend seeks an experienced
Mechanical Estimator
who can meet client objectives through the delivery of an effective cost management service.
The Mechanical Estimator will work with our San Francisco Bay area team and prepare mechanical estimates on an impressive portfolio of commercial, data center, healthcare, high-tech, and manufacturing building projects.
Responsibilities:
Provide estimate and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
Ability to estimate at conceptual, programming, and detailed levels.
Assist on feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
Perform all aspects of procurement, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing bid lists, bid analysis, producing bid reports, and compiling contractual documents.
Participate effectively with post-contract cost variances and the change control processes; where applicable, refer major changes to line manager.
Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to clients.
Provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts.
Maintain liaison with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
Qualifications:
Experience preparing mechanical estimates on large, high-value, and/or complex construction projects.
Good technical experience in all cost management areas: pre-contract, post-contract, and final account.
Demonstrate solid presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and/or other related computer software.
Good organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and be a team player.
Experience with value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
Education/Experience:
College degree in (Mechanical) Engineering, Construction Management with a Technical Focus, Quantity Surveyor, or related technical field.
Experience working on commercial, data center, healthcare, high-tech, and/or manufacturing building projects is preferred.
Additional Information:
The salary range for this full-time role is
$110K-$140K
per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, not a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
