Our client
is a coastal, modern prep apparel brand delivering top quality apparel. This role is on site 3 days a week in Greenville, South Caroline
Role Overview: The Designer, Women's works directly with Design and Product leadership, collaborating to create a Women's line consistent with seasonal direction and the Southern Tide aesthetic. The Designer is responsible for the day-to-day design functions for Women's line that align with brand vision and target market.
Designer Responsibilities:
• Research women's global markets to identify new seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, color, pattern, print techniques, product categories and competitive inspiration.• Develop concepts and sketches for product line, and advocate for design ideas by presenting to internal leadership and cross functional partners.• Develop strong internal cross functional relationships with Merchandising, Technical Design, Production Development and Sourcing.• Influence strategy for product area, providing recommendations regarding seasonal themes and edits to line, ensuring product meets business and customer needs.• Partner with Product Development and Tech Design to create tech packs and communicate vision behind fit and product design• Color, pattern, fabric, and trim selection. Assist with line presentation for bi-annual sales meetings, mini-markets and vendor meetings.• Work closely with design team and Director, Design to ensure calendar deadlines are met.
Designer Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Design• 5+ years in apparel design across women's categories, especially dresses• Thorough knowledge of silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, color use, sewing techniques, and trim• Strong computer knowledge including Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Excel and WFX (preferred).• Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines• Ability to view and differentiate the color spectrum.
