About the role
Boston University seeks a dedicated and dynamic Director to lead the College Advising Corps-Boston University (CAC-BU) program. The CAC-BU Director is responsible for the strategic planning, management, and implementation of the CAC-BU, a partner program of the national College Advising Corps. The program aims to increase educational opportunities for students by making post-secondary education more accessible and equitable. The Director will oversee all aspects of the program, including partnership development, grant and budget management, fundraising, program implementation, and evaluation. This position directly supervises two senior assistant directors and a cohort of eight near-peer college advisers, as well as manages adviser training and recruitment in collaboration with the senior assistant directors. This role reports to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment and Dean of Admissions.
The Director works closely with the Office of Sponsored Programs, Office of Financial Assistance, and multiple external partners, including the National College Advising Corps, AmeriCorps, Boston Public Schools, other school districts, individual schools, Massachusetts Service Alliance, and nonprofits.
The Director’s primary duties include:
Establishing and maintaining relationships with partners and stakeholders;
Managing grants and budgets, ensuring fiscal compliance, and overseeing fundraising efforts;
Overseeing adviser training, recruitment, and professional development;
Monitoring and evaluating program performance and ensuring the achievement of annual goals;
Leading the annual advisor recruitment and onboarding.

About the candidate
A Master’s degree with 8+ years of direct experience with 5+ years of management, or a Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of direct experience with 8+ years of management experience, is required. We are seeking a candidate who:

Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Displays strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to supervise and mentor staff.

Has experience with data analysis and performance management to track and achieve program goals.
A familiarity with federal and grant compliance and working in a higher education setting is strongly preferred, but not required.
