Summary:

***Potential for hybrid work model, upon completion of on-site training***The Senior Analyst is a lead position within the Business Development and Strategic Planning Department. This position will directly lead the analytical and data components of the strategic planning and business development functions of MyMichigan and aid in development of other analysts within the department. This is critical role in providing strategic and market expertise and support to the leaders of MyMichigan to help evaluate, prioritize, execute and accelerate growth opportunities. This is accomplished by being a key partner and working on integrated teams within MyMichigan and delivering on strategic and business planning requests utilizing clinical, claims and internal operational data. This position works closely with Business Leaders and other members of Business Development supporting their needs. A Senior Analyst in this department will exemplify advanced analytical skills, leadership abilities and strategic thinking capabilities and have the ability to take on and lead large tasks and work independently yet collaboratively as needed.Responsibilities:(20%)* Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, implementing, and leading department analytic assignments which support the clinic, market and demographic data needs of special project work and continuous reporting needs of the corporate strategic planning function, service lines, and business development.(20%)* Leads the research, compilation, and analysis of appropriate and relevant data and makes recommendations for strategic initiatives (including the oversight of other analysts in the department). Data includes production of quarterly market share reports, market data for new business opportunities, and other ad/hoc business analysis / market reporting.(20%)* Accountable for the accuracy of all market, environmental, and competitive data, analysis of market trends which includes monitoring and managing the integrity of data generated by other analysts in the department. Assisting appropriate service line leaders and/or Vice Presidents with identification and exploration of business development/growth opportunities or countermeasures to competitive threats. This includes special report requests and responsibility of data and tools currently available such as MHA Data Koala, SG2 Health Care Intelligence, Optum OMA, etc.(15%)* Leveraging the information to compile visualization for Senior Leadership and provide actionable insights; create effective presentations ensuring data translates to information; utilizing trend and statistical analysis when appropriate.(15%)* Lead the development and knowledge base of other analysts in the department.(10%)* Manages and monitors multiple projects simultaneously by establishing project plans and objectives to ensure goal attainment within defined parametersCertifications and Licensures:

CPA - Certified Public Accountant

Preferred Equivalent Experience - CPA Preferred (Certified Public Accountant)

Required Education:

Education: Bachelors Degree

Comments: Bachelor's Degree with at least five years of experience is required. Masters Degree in business or healthcare administration with emphasis in Finance and/or Accounting is preferred.

Other Information:

Assistance to service line leaders in the development and ongoing maintenance of their Business Plans, through actionable data and insights.Lead all analytic collaborative efforts with service line leaders and teams providing market, clinic and demographic data, ensuring data accuracy, and assisting with analysis to reach conclusions and formulate action plans. As Senior Analyst this position will also delegate and review all work of other department analysts.Actively participate in service line teams delivering market share and/or demographic data.Working in collaboration with the teams to analyze financial reports and business plans and assist the teams in reaching conclusions and in formulating action plans.MyMichigan Health is a technology driven organization and employees need to demonstrate competency in Microsoft Windows.Employees are required to take a Computer Skills Assessment via the learning management system upon hire. Based on the results of the assessment, an employee may be required to participate in further learning opportunities offered by MyMichigan Health.Equivalent Experience and Other Comments (Education):

Five or more years experience in two or more health care subject areas (market strategy, financial analysis, planning, operations, statistical modeling, business decisions, etc.)Minimum of 5 years of experience analyzing, interpreting, reporting, and communicating data.Must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with employees from all levels within the organization.Must have the skills to lead other analysts, coordinate independent work as well as guiding and managing the work of others as well as reviewing the integrity and accuracy of all data from the department.Must have the ability to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner to both individuals and groups.Must possess strong analytical, strategic, planning, problem solving and critical thinking skills.Strong working knowledge in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and all other MS Office Suite toolsSkilled in reporting and data visualization software, such as Tableau, with strong presentation skillsStrong data analytical skillset required to support multiple departments utilizing various databases.Must be able to generate standard and custom reports summarizing business data for review by leadership team and other stakeholdersMust possess excellent written and verbal presentation skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.*NOTE: PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS MAY BE APPLICABLE WITH THIS POSITION.Refer to job description for a complete list of requirements.
