The Cyber Security Remediation Analyst serves as the technology specialist to perform assignments associated with the Information Security (INFOSEC) specialty area to plan and carry out difficult and complex INFOSEC assignments. Develops and manages programs to address continuous monitoring, risk assessment, remediation tracking, external reporting and liaising, critical infrastructure protection coordination, and incident and investigations management.

Our 7-person Vulnerability Remediation team is comprised of Cyber Security specialist dedicated to the defense of our client's IT environment. The Analyst uses judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness in deviating from established methods to modify, adapt, and/or refine broader guidelines to resolve specific complex and/or intricate issues and problems; treat specific issues or problems; research trends and patterns; develop new standards, criteria, methods, and techniques; and propose new policies and practices. They make informed decisions that involve major uncertainties with regard to the most effective approach or methodology to be applied.

This role will require work 3 days onsite per pay period, 6 days total per month in NE Portland.

Work You'll Do:Evaluates the impact of technological change, and conceives of solutions to highly complex technical issues.Presents, explains, and defends controversial issues; and persuade program managers and other decision-making officials with widely differing goals and interests to follow a recommended course of action consistent with established policies, objectives, and regulations.Ensures the application of appropriate security means to the assignment.Develops, implements, and coordinates activities designed to ensure, protect, and restore IT systems, services, and capabilities. Monitors and evaluates systems' compliance with IT security requirements.Provides advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems.Evaluates, recommends the acquisition of, implements, and disseminates IT security tools, procedures, and practices to protect information assets.Reviews independent assessments for external systems or networks operated on behalf of organization, and recommends new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of those reviews.Identifies and specifies information systems security requirements associated with migrations to new environments, and provides guidance in planning and implementing migration activities.Develops specifications to ensure compliance with security requirements at the systems or LAN level.Ensures proper protection of evidence used in assessments.What You Bring:

3+ years of experience working in systems administration or network administration with a concerned focus on reporting cyber security vulnerabilityBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field is desired, but not requiredStrong understanding of networking fundamentalsExperience working with security operations and/or incident response teamsHands-on experience with SIEM technologies like Splunk is desiredHands-on experience with vulnerability scanning; Nessus, Qualys, Burp Suite, etc.Ability to pass a Government Clearance & Drug Test>

$70,000 - $110,000 a year

UltraViolet Cyber maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect our company's differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
