Network Administrator - 2nd Shift

Position Summary:

The Network Administrator reports to the Director, Managed Services and works directly with customers to provide day-to-day network administration, and troubleshooting support. This position also occasionally participates in other areas and projects, such as circuit activations, managed services on-boarding, and performing configurations, installations, and upgrades on customer contracts.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties:Serve as a direct point of contact for customer, service provider and internal staff interaction.Monitor and maintain operating systems, network configurations, software applications, and hardware.Administer and monitor system availability and performance tools.Add and enhance monitoring objects for SNMPC and various systems.Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.Solve or document and further escalated issues as needed.Update and create internal articles and/or documentation.Work closely with internal and external customers.Trouble shoot equipment connectivity and perform layer 1-3 troubleshooting.Perform loop testing to determine and isolate problems on the path.Provide technical support to internal staff as well as external customers.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Behaviors:

3+ years of progressively responsible, hands-on operations experience in a high availability NOC and data center environment.SQL Server administration and/or management experience.Significant experience with IIS, Active Directory, Windows networking administration, and knowledge of web technologies.Linux administration.Comprehensive knowledge of Windows operating systems for servers and workstations, including Windows Server 2008.VB and batch scripting experience.Working Knowledge and Understanding of DNS.Certifications:

Networking, Microsoft, and VMWare certification preferred.

Physical Demands:

Sedentary Work - Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
